While we do mention some specific brands and products to support learning – we focus on general features, which can be found across many different brands. This allows clinicians to learn about the features their client requires, rather than just knowledge around popular brands on the market. This also supports rural clinicians who may not have access to specific brands – allowing them to discuss with suppliers what features they may need to address functional needs.

Is a profiling bed the same as a hospital bed?
Yes – electric beds can also be called profiling, mechanical or hospital beds. Essentially for the purpose of this course – when we say electric profiling beds – we mean any electric bed that can move and also be height adjustable!
