Read an Inspiring Success Story

Community Therapy recently helped a wonderful 79-year old Broadmeadow resident.

He’s a great lawn bowls player, however unfortunately hadn’t played for some time because he’d lost confidence in his physical capacity.

He had asked his care coordinator for Physiotherapy at home and that’s how we became involved.
Our Physiotherapist assessed his balance, strength and mobility and helped him with ongoing Physiotherapy sessions at home and prescribed a safe tailored exercise program that he could complete each day independently.

It took several months of consistent work however he actually achieved his goal of a return to lawn bowls at a social level.

He is still building up his strength to lunge down easily, but we have set him up with an assistive bowling stick so that he can continue to play as his strength improves even further.

It has been so rewarding to see the impact this has had on his everyday life. Outdoor exercise is great for everyone – not only is it a lot of fun, but it does wonders for people both physically and socially. It’s just about getting outside and being involved socially.

We’re so delighted to have helped this wonderful gentleman return to a sport he loves.
