Read a Success Story from Cessnock
One of our clients was having great difficulties accessing the community when he first presented to us, due to a lack of confidence in his balance, walking quality and knee pain. He had been confining himself to indoors for a number of months since he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
When walking outside, he was having issues with gutters, uneven surfaces and inclines/declines. Furthermore, he had fallen over 3 times in the previous year.
Since working with this client, we’ve been able to return to safe outdoor walking – he now walks up to three times a week and up to a kilometre at a time! His objective measures have also dramatically improved, with his walking speed doubling in 6 months. He also has not fallen since commencing physiotherapy with us.
His story is not unique either – dozens of our clients are making improvements every day across the Hunter under the supervision of the team at Community Therapy.
